My companions on the Costa Rica 2026 trip got very excited when German friend spotted this specimen at the Reserva Curi Cancha and I can see why. It is a quite spectacular example of the flatwings. from what I recall, these are two different individuals. We did not see a female.
Don’t get me started on the “damselflies sit with their wings folded along their body” nonsense.
